BougeBouge Outaouais 2021

Take part in the BougeBouge Outaouais race, a 2km or 5km running competition on the weekends of July 31-August 1 and August 7-8, 2021.

Rediscover the pleasure of running with your family and friends in a safe way! See the sections below for the scenarios and measures that will be in place.

This running event will follow the BougeBouge Festival which will thrill your neighbourhood on July 10-11, 17-18 and 24-25, 2021. Varied and free sports activities celebrating the vitality of communities will be offered in a park near your home.

See the program
  1. Departures will take place every 30 minutes for the 2km and 60 minutes for the 5km in order to give participants time to leave the course before the start of the next wave.
  2. Your registration does NOT guarantee you the wave of your choice; following your purchase, you will have to complete the registration form for a wave of departure (link on your ticket and in your confirmation email)

Cancellation
In the case that the event should be canceled or held in an different manner, including a virtual race for reasons beyond the control of the organizing committee such as the weather or a pandemic situation including Covid-19 and / or any other in case of force majeure, no refund will be possible.

  1. A platform fee of $ 2.95 as well as GST and QST taxes will be added to your order.
  2. Online registrations will close on Sunday, one week before the event.
  3. You can transfer your bib on site when you collect your participant’s kit.
  4. For a late registration, you will have to go to the race site. You will need to pay by bank transfer and we will assign you a departure based on availability. No cash, check, credit / debit card or web promo code will be accepted.

Scenario A: In person activities 

  • Running competition: Each start is scheduled to see limited groups according to public health restrictions. You choose your departure by filling out the form in the “Ticket” section. You must be at the start line no more than 15 minutes before the start.
  • Activities in the parks: The activities will follow the established schedule with limits of participants according to the restrictions in force.

Scenario B: Virtual activities

  • Running event: In the case that the event has to be held in a virtual way, the participant will collect his runner’s kit on the dates scheduled and complete his challenge at the location of his choice on his race day. You will need to fill out the time form HERE in order to be able to submit your time to sportstats to display your result.
  • Activities in the parks: Activities will be offered in a virtual format.

Alert levels (Link in French)

We follow the recommendations of public health as well as the guides of the Fédération Québécoise d’Athlétisme. Here is an overview of the main measures which are subject to change without notice:

  1. Mandatory hand disinfection upon entering and leaving the site.
  2. When collecting your bib, you will be asked to complete a web form to verify that you have no symptoms of Covid-19. In a positive case, you will not be able to participate in the event.
  3. As soon as they arrive at the competition site, wearing a mask is mandatory at all times for all participants aged 10 and over. The mask can be removed during your departure while respecting the 2 m distance.
  4. Departures will be in controlled groups. The maximum number of participants per group is set by public health.
  5. There will be several hand sanitizing stations on site and near the washrooms.
  6. Respect of 2 m will be necessary at all times.
  7. No spectator will be allowed on the site.
  8. After the race, participants will be prompted to leave the site.

Bib pickup:

The collection of the bib will be done only 15 to 30 minutes before your start of the race.

  • Make sure to validate your departure on the platform SportStats at least a week before the event.

 

The participant’s kit

  • The bib will be given to you at the BougeBouge kiosk near the start.
  • Your BougeBouge accessory of your choice, your graduation ribbon and your snack will be given to you at the finish.

We do not offer a conventional medal, but rather an eco-responsible BougeBouge ribbon.

Timing:

  1. Gun start and manual timing Sports Stats (2021)
  2. Results will be by age category (U5, 6-7, 8-9, 10-12, 13-14, 15-19, 20-29 … up to 60 years +)
  3. All the results will be found on Sportstats

Race course :

  1. Secure
  2. Mileage markers and signage on the course
  3. First aid service at the departure and arrival points

Water station

No water station will be installed on the course other than at the finish line. We suggest you bring your own bottle if needed.

 

Bathroom

An outdoor chemical toilet or access to a sanitary block will be available to you at the start.

Eco-responsible instructions:

  • Please put the waste in the correct recycling bins.
  • Do not throw litter on the ground during your activity
  • Bring your water bottle for filling at the tap

  1. The Course BougeBouge Outaouais is affiliated with the Federation of Athletics of Quebec.
  2. Prohibition to take the start with a dog. Babyjogger style strollers are accepted.
  3. No spectators will be accepted on the site.
