BougeBouge Wakefield covered bridge race
The BougeBouge Wakefield is the collaboration between Wakefield in the area of the Municipality of La Pêche and BougeBouge to offer you a road and trail event! Discover the beautiful covered bridge and Gatineau Park on 3km, 5km, 10km or 21.1km courses. Afterwards, join in the festivities at the race site! Campfires, picnics, music… everything will be there!
Free overnight parking
Try the free overnight parking for our event at Vorlage, offering an ideal spot in the heart of nature for your tent or van. Enjoy a friendly evening around a campfire. Settle in directly on the competition site and book your ticket online now on the BougeBouge website, at the same time as your race registration, to enjoy a full weekend outdoor experience.
Note: no hookups or services (toilets, showers, etc.) available on site.

Captivating tales and stories by the fire
Let yourself be transported by the voice of storyteller Pascal Aubut, who will share enchanting stories around the fire on Saturday evening. Under the stars, in the heart of nature, gather with fellow participants for a moment of imagination, wonder, and connection.
This unique storytelling experience is part of the special programming for the BougeBouge Wakefield – Covered Bridge Race weekend.

Join us on Saturday evening for a journey through the night sky. Whether you’re curious about astrology or simply want to better understand the stars above, this workshop will help you connect with the cosmos in a new way. Led by a passionate guide, you’ll explore basic concepts of astrology, learn how to read the sky, and reflect on our place in the universe.
Thanksgiving Breakfast – by Les Brûlés
Extend your BougeBouge Wakefield – Covered Bridge Run experience with a festive Thanksgiving breakfast on Sunday, surrounded by nature.
After running through the beautiful roads and trails of Wakefield, join us for a comforting breakfast carefully prepared by Les Brûlés. Whether you completed the 21.1 km, 10 km, 5 km, or 3 km, it’s a great opportunity to relax, connect, and wrap up the weekend with fellow runners and families.
The BougeBouge Wakefield race weekend is more than just a finish line—it’s a celebration of the outdoors, community, and the joy of being together.
Let’s make this Thanksgiving weekend unforgettable.
Bib Pickup
- Saturday, October 11, 2025:
- Location: Wakefield Community Centre, 38 Chemin de la Vallée de Wakefield, Wakefield, QC J0X 3G0
Time: 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Exception: Same-day pickup on Sunday, October 12, 2025, only for those living outside the region.
Location: Near the start line at Vorlage Ski Station, 65 Burnside Road, Wakefield, Quebec.
On event morning, a limited number of new registrations will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that pricing may vary between events. Last-minute registration fees are generally higher than the prices previously published on the website, once taxes and platform fees are applied. Expect a minimum additional fee of $10 on top of the standard rates at the end of the transaction for all distances.
Registration Fees
- Ticket price: please check the ticketing section at the bottom of the page.
- Prices increase by $5 per month during the 90 days leading up to the event.
- At registration, a platform fee of $2.95 + 3% of the transaction, plus GST and QST taxes, will apply.
- Online registration closes the Thursday before the event.
Included with Registration
- A personalized bib
- At arrival, you will receive a finisher’s prize. This prize varies by season (a baseball cap, a beanie, a bandana, a keychain, etc.). The organizers prepare a surprise for every race.
- A snack
- Photographers will publish an album of the event on our Facebook page! Like our Facebook page to get notified when the photos are posted!

Cancellation Policy
Race tickets are non-refundable except in case of cancellation by BougeBouge. In that case, BougeBouge will refund the ticket price as well as service fees charged at the time of purchase.
MyMap
3 KM run/walk with family
This event will depart from Vorlage and cross the Wakefield covered bridge.
5 KM run/walk
This event will take you through part of Wakefield, across the covered bridge and along the Gatineau River for 1 km and then turn around on the same road.
10 KM run/walk
This fun and scenic 10km event will take you through a residential area of Wakefield, across the Wakefield Covered Bridge, then along the beautiful Gatineau River for the majority of your kilometers, then loop around behind and over a large hill and back down the other side to rejoin the Wakefield Covered Bridge, which brings you back to the finish. It is one third paved road and two thirds gravel road.
10 KM run on trail
This race offers a variety of terrain including hills, flat sections, forests and vast plains. It starts RIDING! With the ascent of a Vorlage (Quadriceps in Fire) ski trail for about 10 meters then you will pass the Wakefield Mill and join a part of the Trans Canada Trail to cross the Gatineau Park and back.
21.1 KM on trail MAP
Limited to 250 people, must be 10 years and older This race offers a variety of terrain such as hills, flat sections, forests and vast plains. It starts stiff! With the ascent of a Vorlage (Quadriceps in Fire) ski trail for about 10 meters then you will pass the Wakefield Mill and join a part of the Trans Canada Trail to cross the Gatineau Park and go to Philippe Lake where you will turn around. PLEASE NOTE: No dogs are allowed on the trail run.

- A clock will be present at the finish line to see your time
- You will have a personalized bib with your name
Refueling station and BUFFET
- There will be water at the finish line. Some stations will be “self-serve” in the trails, so we suggest a good level of autonomy.
- Thanksgiving Buffet. Purchase your tickets in advance and check out the menu on the BougeBouge event page.
Locker
- Additionally, there is also a locker available inside the main building, but please note that it is unsupervised.
Toilet
- Indoor washrooms at the Vorlage Center. No toilets will be available in the trail or on the road, so please be self-sufficient.
Water station
- 5 water stations on the courses (see MyMap).

- Do not throw waste or masks on the ground during your activity.
- Please put the waste in the proper recycling bins.
- We work very hard to ensure that all our events meet our eco-friendly goals.
