Tortuguero

Tortuguero, commonly known as the “Little Amazon”, owes this name to the impressive vegetation that borders its network of channels and lagoons.

Tortuguero is also the first nesting site in the northern hemisphere for the green turtle. In season (from July to October for the green turtle), you will have the opportunity to go and observe this amazing and moving phenomenon. Tortuguero National Park is full of animal and plant species. You will be able to meet, for example, caimans, howler monkeys, spider monkeys, sloths, toucans, iguanas, basilisks, or birds of all colors.
