Porto is the 2nd largest Portuguese metropolis, located in the northwest of Portugal, particularly known for its imposing bridges and its port (wine) production.

The historic center of Porto, known as Ribeira, was built on the hills overlooking the Douro River. This area is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In Porto, you should not miss the São Francisco church (dating from the 19th century), the Port wine cellars mainly located along the river in Vila Nova de Gaia.
