Monteverde

Costa rica

Founded by American Quaker immigrants fleeing enlistment for the Korean War, this community has thrived on ranching and protecting the surrounding forests.

At an altitude of 1250m, you will cross the cloud forest and perhaps see, at the bend of a path in the Monteverde biological reserve, the Quetzal, the legendary bird that once represented the Mayan empire. The area offers a wide range of visits to choose from: a visit to the suspension bridges, the biological reserves, walks in the Cerro Amigos, the possibility of visiting a coffee plantation, etc.
