This underground network covers 32 kilometers of tunnels. Since 2004, it has been officially known as the R\u00c9SO. The tunnels and galleries connect many office buildings, residential complexes, shopping centers, universities, luxury homes and hotels from the inside. The tunnels also contain a wide range of restaurants and stores from the very chic to the inexpensive. In fact, Montreal’s underground is estimated to contain nearly 12% of all the businesses in the downtown core. Montreal’s underground network makes it possible to store while avoiding the inclemency of the Quebec winter.<\/p>\n
