BougeBouge aims to combat the drop-out rate among teenagers, families and the elderly. This fight is in harmony with the development of mental health services, since well-being and performance, or simply the practice of physical activity, are intimately linked. At the heart of our MAVIA approach, which encourages self-determined motivations for physical activity, mental health is a necessary precursor to the adoption of healthy lifestyle habits. So we’re sharing with you this new approach to Sport’aide: “Holistik – Well-being and performance”, as represented by Sportcom, which fits in well with our mission and values.<\/p>\n

Quebec City, Tuesday, May 28, 2024<\/strong> – Today, Sport’Aide launches its new “Holistik – Well-being and Performance” approach, made possible thanks to the financial support of the Fondation Jeunes en t\u00eate, the TELUS Foundation for a Better Future and the Montreal Canadiens Foundation. With Holistik, Sport’Aide supports athletes in optimizing their well-being and performance by developing skills that will help them cope with the diverse demands of their sport and other spheres of their daily lives.<\/p>\n

In response to a need felt by our young athletes, this unique initiative aims to make the services offered by Certified Mental Performance Consultants (CMPCs) more accessible to athletes from high school through to university by reimbursing part of the cost of a consultation, based on family income.<\/p>\n

For Sylvain Croteau, General Manager of Sport’Aide, this is an eagerly-awaited initiative that will resonate in the field. “By equipping young people and acting positively on their holistic development and mental health, they will be able to develop protective factors against the various forms of violence, thus ensuring that they have an enriching sporting experience. In short, prevention at the service of our young athletes,” says Mr. Croteau proudly.<\/p>\n

As for Andr\u00e9 Lachance, Senior Director at Cirque du Soleil, who was consulted in the development of Holistik, Sport’Aide demonstrates that well-being and performance can coexist in sports. “The Holistik approach plays a key role in supporting developing athletes on a psychological level. This aspect of performance plays a vital role in enabling athletes to develop to their full potential. It is with great enthusiasm that I welcome this new approach launched by Sport’Aide,” says Mr Lachance.<\/p>\n

Sport’Aide is an independent non-profit organization whose mission is to provide leadership in the implementation of initiatives that promote a healthy, safe and harmonious sport, recreation and outdoor environment for young participants in Quebec and to provide support services to the various players in these environments, at both the elite and recreational levels.<\/p>\n
