With the current  COVID-19 pandemic situation, the provincial and federal governments have issued strong recommendations to limit the spread of the virus among the population. BougeBouge unconditionally supports these recommendations.

We have therefore decided to postpone BougeBouge Outaouais (scheduled for  May 3, 2020) and BougeBouge Ile-Perrot (scheduled for June 7, 2020) to a later date. It is still too early to propose a new schedule, and we will wait for further developments to proceed with new dates.

Your registration will be automatically updated with a new  date when the situation is more clear.

You will be able to transfer your registration from BougeBouge Outaouais or BougeBouge Ile-Perrot to a friend free of charge if the  new date does not suit you.

The event is postponed for reasons beyond our control. We have been promoting this event for the past 3 years and we continue to offer our support in this time of crisis. Les BougeBouge has always been safe and we will be there when the new date is known, based on public health recommendations.

Quote from Erik Guimond, physical education teacher at École St-Jean de Bosco and physical education pedagogical advisor at CSPO – “We have been encouraging this event for the past 3 years and we will continue to offer our support in these times of crisis. I have been preparing my running club at BougeBouge Outaouais for 3 years now and we will participate when the next date is announced. This event is one of the most inspiring, stimulating and above all safe for our youth, families and friends. We have confidence in BougeBouge and we will be there when the new date is announced”.

This is a difficult situation for our event organizers, especially considering that  this year’s events are some of our biggest to date (with over 2000 registered participants). The health of our runners and volunteers must take precedence over everything else.

Obviously, this will have an impact on our organization. Putting on an event generates non-negligible fixed costs (rentals, permits, insurance, purchase of equipment, signage, web platform costs and more). Additionally, being a non-profit organization, our surpluses are always reinvested back to the communities we serve in our mission.

Rest assured that we are going through this crisis with our heads held high and that we will be back to offer you the events you love with the energy and passion of BougeBouge. We also know that we can count on the support and commitment of our beautiful community.

Let’s take this opportunity to show our solidarity and be kind to each other, while keeping our distance of course!
